|FRENCH TIPS ARE TRENDING AGAIN – HERE’S HOW TO NAIL THEM
Who doesn’t love a classic French manicure. Trends come and go, but those signature white tips are an everlasting favourite. Right now, everyone wants to nail the easy French manicure, and we’re happy to show you the step-by-step guide to French tips.
Whether you opt for the original style or modernise with colourful French tips, skinny French or try the latest trend: the micro French manicure, the technique remains essentially the same.
We present the Victoria Tralee French manicure:
STEP 1: Prep. This is how you make those tips last a little longer and prevent chipping. File down the tips to make your nails the same length, and lightly buff (very lightly) over the top of the nail bed – this allows the polish, and your base coat, to grip more effectively. Again, we’re all about the longevity of your mani here.
STEP 2: Base coat. Our fave at the moment is our Gimme Strength strengthening nail treatment, or our trusty Back To Life. Why? These two treatments have the ideal soft pink tint that perfects and evens your nail colour for a French manicure.
STEP 3: Paint. Once that base is dry, grab a skinny brush and paint with a white nail polish (we like Find Me In Fulham from our 45 Second Speedy Gloss range) in as thin or thick tips as you’d like. Yep, this one requires a steady hand…
STEP 4: Hack. If you’re not so steady and are looking for a hack, then try our silicone tip tool from our French Mani Hack nail polish set. This time, paint a layer of polish on the silicone and while wet, dip your nail in at a 45 degree angle onto the stamper and push down until you reach the end of the nail tip, creating classic French tips. We love a TikTok hack!
STEP 5: Seal. Finish with your favourite Victoria Tralee top coat for longer lasting glossy results. If you find your mani looks dull after a few days, refresh with another coat.
